Benefits of Quitting Smoking
Fri 15 Apr 2016
“E-cigarettes are 95% less harmful than tobacco and could be prescribed on the NHS in future.”
It’s a powerful statement. Public Health England said this in August 2015. This is the body that advises Government, the NHS and the public on all things health related.
Can e-cigarettes help you quit smoking? Without more research, we cannot say for certain. However, there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence to suggest that they are a viable alternative to tobacco cigarettes.
The vapers here at ELFC would certainly say that switching from tobacco to e-cigarettes has improved their health.
So what are the benefits of quitting tobacco cigarettes?
Reduced chance of developing lung cancer and heart disease
Improved fertility
Ability to breathe more easily
Reduced risk of complications from chronic illnesses such as Crohn’s disease and asthma
Improved sense of taste and smell
Reduced stress
Whiter teeth
No more second hand smoke
More money
Healthier skin
The positives that come from quitting smoking are obvious, but so many find it too difficult to give up the habit. If you think that an e-cigarette may be able to help you, check out our Guide to E-Cigarettes and Vaping and our Vaping Q&A for more information.
